With a Broken Heart to Frankfurt
With Broken Heart we explored similar concepts to some of our previous works, engaging viewers and encouraging them to move around an apparently abstract object within a public place, to find the single perspective from which all becomes clear. Through movement the visitor experiences a constantly moving cloud of illuminated lines that will never be seen the same way twice.
This latest piece comprises of 75no. red linear LED pixels based on KKDC's Groove Light, each mounted to a 2.3m tall steal rod, which were manually placed into the ground to organically fit in with the environment they were in.
GNI projects were part of a selected group of international artists and designers, to be invited to exhibit their work within the pictures surrounding of the Plamengarten, which this year attracted a record number of 31,000 visitors
throughout the week.
"We found ourselves very lucky to be part of the selected few to exhibit within the Plamengarten, and we are also very grateful to everyone at KKDC for providing us with highly customized lighting components. Tom and Jack from KKDC came to see our first Luminale two years prior to this collaboration, offering us their support, and we are really pleased to realize this project as a team"
